Imela Youth Foundation

Waste Management & Sanitation

We promote proper waste disposal and hygiene practices that keep communities healthy, safe, and sustainable.

When Waste Becomes a Health Hazard

In many underserved areas, improper waste disposal and poor sanitation lead to serious health risks — including waterborne diseases, respiratory infections, and environmental degradation.

Children and single mothers often bear the brunt of these conditions. IYF intervenes through education, mobilization, and behavior change campaigns aimed at making every village cleaner and safer.

What We Do

Community Clean-Up Campaigns

Mobilizing youth, schools, and VSLAs to clean villages, marketplaces, and schools.

Sanitation Education

Training households and groups on hygiene practices, including handwashing and latrine maintenance.

Waste Disposal Awareness

Teaching the importance of proper waste sorting, composting, and environmentally safe dumping.

Reusable Waste Skills

Basic skills in recycling plastic waste into crafts or usable items.

Education First, Change That Lasts

IYF uses interactive sessions, school clubs, and local champions to promote lasting behavioral shifts around sanitation. We believe awareness, repeated practice, and peer learning are key to sustainable impact.

When youth lead change, communities follow.

Clean Communities Begin With You

You can support sanitation toolkits, awareness drives, or fund waste bins for schools and public centers. Your contribution helps protect lives from the ground up.
